Useful tips for Tanzania

Discover Tanzania, a spectacular destination where legendary safaris, impressive African landscapes, and the exotic beaches of Zanzibar create an unforgettable experience. Whether you dream of encounters with the wildlife of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro or relaxing on white sandy beaches and turquoise waters, Tanzania offers adventure and authenticity at their finest. Keep the following tips in mind for a worry-free vacation.

Bargaining is common in local markets and souvenir shops, especially in tourist areas. It is recommended to negotiate calmly and respectfully, without rushing, to reach a fair price for both parties.

Tipping is a common practice, especially on safaris, in hotels, and restaurants. Guides and drivers often rely on tips, so it's a good idea to have cash on hand.

Light clothing in light colours and natural materials is ideal for the warm climate. For safari, neutral-colored clothing (beige, khaki) is recommended. In Zanzibar, where the population is predominantly Muslim, it is advisable to wear modest clothing outside of resorts (shoulders and knees covered).

Transportation is frequently done by taxi or rented cars with a driver. It is recommended to agree on the fare before departure. In cities, local minibuses (dala-dala) are cheap but crowded.

Drones are strictly regulated in Tanzania. Their use is prohibited without special permits obtained in advance from the competent authorities. Bringing drones into the country can lead to confiscation.

Roaming costs are high. It is recommended to purchase a local SIM card, which is easy to find at the airport or in major cities, for calls and internet access.
