Visa Regime
Citizens of the Republic of Moldova require a visa to enter Sri Lanka for tourism purposes. The visa is usually obtained online (ETA – Electronic Travel Authorization) before the trip and allows a stay of up to 30 days, with the possibility of extension.
Accepted Documents
- Entry is allowed only with a valid passport. Identity cards are not accepted.
- The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Sri Lanka and must contain at least one blank page.
Additional documents may be requested at the border, such as:
- Return or onward travel ticket
- Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation)
- Proof of sufficient financial means for the stay
- Proof of ETA visa approval
Stay Rules
- Exceeding the permitted stay may result in fines, deportation, or a ban on re-entry.
- Extensions can be requested from the Department of Immigration and Emigration in Sri Lanka before the visa expires.
